Map of USHL 2006 Birth Year Draft Picks (Rounds 1-8)

CA Shines at 2022 USHL Draft with 15 Draft Picks

The United States Hockey League is the premier Junior development league in the US, and the only US league with Tier 1 Junior A designation. Over 90% of players in the league move on to play Division 1 NCAA hockey, and the league has continued to hold a massive presence at the NHL draft year over year.

By The Numbers:
142 | Players drafted in the Phase 1 USHL draft
15 | Players drafted from California
13 | Players from Southern California
13 | Players that have participated in RAD camps and training sessions
10 | Players from the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 2006 AAA Teams
3 | First Round Selections from So. California
1 | Tendered before the draft - Trevor Connelly by the Tri-City Thunder

20 players totals from the Southwest from San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.  There are 10 former LA Jr Kings on this list, many of who had a great run in Quebec winning the PeeWee World Championship in 2019

Congratulations to all of the drafted players and their families! We’re extremely proud to have played a small role in some of these players’ development along with many other incredible coaches and mentors including Luke Fortune who runs Patriots spring hockey and Brette Beebe who runs RAD hockey camps and JR Kings.

Here are the 15 players drafted that are from California.

The LA Jr Kings, Jr Ducks, Vegas Knights, and the Phoenix Coyote junior hockey programs are alive and well and filled with talent.   I am hopeful that scouts will continue to spend more time in Southern California as future draft picks are forthcoming.

Here are the teams and the number of players selected per team.
